Hi Lovelies,
I thought this would be a great forum for me to answer some of the beauty and fashion questions you guys ask me via YT and my blog. Remember, makeup is an art, and therefore there are NO rules. I might answer a question the way I think appropriate, but there are probably many more ways to do the same thing as you asked =)
BEAUTY QUESTIONS:
1) Q: What is a good non-sticky lip gloss that I can buy?
A: Try out Cargo's Purse Gloss. They are the MOST non-sticky lipglosses I have ever used. However, due to the fact that they are not sticky, they do not stay on as well as a stickier formula would.
2) Q: What is your favorite drugstore mascara?
A: I love Lash Stiletto by Maybelline, and Lashblast by Covergirl
3) Q: What is a great dewy foundation?
A: My favorite is Nars Sheer Glow, as it covers well, and gives a beautiful radiant glow.
4) Q: Best foundation for oily skin?
A: Hands down, the Makeup Forever Matte Velvet Plus!
5) Q: To counteract dark circles, should I go for a yellow or pinkish concealer?
A: I have found, as a makeup artist, that pink toned concealers work better for for under eye circles, regardless of what color circles you have.
Keep your questions coming, and if I think it will be helpful to others as well, I will post it here in addition to answering you privately!

ReplyDeleteHi shilpa, thank you so much! I think you should try out Jazzy Razz which is a pro longwewar lipgloss by mac, and midimauve lipstick also by mac. hope that helps!
ReplyDeleteperfect nude lip for nc30 skintone?
ReplyDeletemyth lipstick by mac with cork lip liner also by mac
ReplyDeleteIs there a significant difference between the NC 42 and the NW 35. I'm currently wearing NC 42 and I was wondering if NW 35 was a warmer shade? Thanks :)
ReplyDeletehey! NW35 is a warmer shade for sure- it has a lot of pink to it, and i personally dont like the NW shades because to me it looks a bit unnatural
ReplyDeleteHi Megha,
ReplyDeleteMy Mac shade is NC40. Pls suggest me nice shades for blushes, eye shadows and lipsticks for Indian wedding function.
Thanks :)
Hi Megha,
ReplyDeleteI would like to say that I absolutely love your work, you are so talented and beautiful! I am really interested in the Giella Eye M Glam highligthing powder that you spoke of and would like to purchase it, but I am having trouble accessing the company website, do you know of other ways, or means of purchasing this item? I truly appreciate any advice you have to offer :) Thank you so much!
Hi Megha,
ReplyDeleteI was just wondering, I'm an NC 42 in MAC and in the MUFE HD Foundation I'm 153. What shade would you recommend in MUFE Matte-Velvet Plus?
Love all of your videos and keep up the great work! = )
first of all congrats on 6000 subscriber1. I love your YT page because its unique and very interesting to watch i really enjoy the tips and tutorials you give, im studying to become a makeup artist as well and watching your videos helps me move ahead and try new things. 2 I always wanted to do airbrush and wasnt to sure about it but watching your vid has influenced my decision to purchase it and try it so thanks for that! and the dark circle vid.3 I would like to see vid on correctiv techniques, sorry didnt know where else to post :( take care swetie
ReplyDeletehey megha, I'm Divalicious8ty8 on youtube and twitter.
ReplyDeleteI'd like prize pack #1 please :)
1)What I love about your channel- This question is kinda difficult cos i love your channel for SO many reasons. I'll try to condense it though!
a)your videos are so super easy to follow and you explain each and everything so clearly, its easy even for a baby to understand about makeup after watching your vids.
b)your english is perfect for me. Initially when I was trying to find a good desi beauty guru on youtube, I came across so many but sadly they would have really bad grammar and/or a really bad accent and that kinda thing just puts me off. like really, really puts me off. so plus points to you for being the Global Desi :)
c)you are totally down-to-earth and friendly and open, and this is one of the main things that makes it a joy to watch your vids.
2) my most fav tip/ trick:
a)eyebrows. i had absolutely no idea that brows were so important till i heard you talking about them! and my favourite feature of my face is my eyes and it really showed me how to play them up by having defined eyebrows!!
b)love the way you give versatile uses to a single thing. for example, with the NAKED palette. you did so many gorgeous looks it was amazing. most other gurus did like ONE or 2 looks with it and that was it, but you really showed how that single product could be used for so many lovely looks.
c)also your detailed explanation on certain things, like brushes (for ex. the MAC 130 for foundation - you really sold me on that one, i just HAD to go get it after watching your vid)
3) on what I want to see in the future:
a)more looks with more affordable beauty products like nyx, milani and other drugstore brands
b)updated foundation routine using the mac matchmaster and sigmax brushes
COULD YOU PLEASEE PLEASEE Tell us different eyeshadow looks that you can create from using the naked palette?! You said that when you go on vacation you just take the naked palette, well what colors do you use and where do you put them (ie, what color on the lid, the crease, inner corners, and under the brow)?
ReplyDeleteHi megha i'm the exact skin color as you and ive been wanting to dye my hair for the longest time. And i like how your hair is a dark brownish color with a sort of reddish tint. Do you get it done or do it at home? And what color do you use? Thanks so much!(:
ReplyDeletehi doll, i actually get my hair done at a salon and i have no idea what color they used. i told them i wanted it to look like my hair had a red tint- and we also did some peekaboo sections of a deep red, like maroon
DeleteHi Megha! First let me start off by saying that you are such a beautiful girl! I love watching your videos! I love them especially because you are like me...INDIAN!!! Well, I wasn't born in Indian, but I am of East Indian descent.
ReplyDeleteI have a couple of questions and hope that you can make some suggestions. I purchased the Nars Sheer Glow foundation in Trinidad when I was back home in Florida. The sales person swatched this on me and swore that it was the "PERFECT" color for me. I could not tell from the lighting in the store. When I left the US, I swatched the foundation on my face (that first and last time I used it) and it is so incredibly dark on me. The problem is that I am unable to return the bottle simply because the Sephora where I am at does not carry Nars. What would you suggest that I do with this "unusable" foundation? It's always such a drag when attempting to trust the so-called "professionals" in the store...my "matching" experience is almost always a blunder!!! Blah!
Another issue I have is that I have been using the MAC Studio Fix Powder in NW35 and it was a really good match for me, but for some reason it is now making me look gray. Sometimes it's hit or miss. Can you suggest a way to circumvent this?
I really try to stay away from foundation (if i can). As I get older, I am trying to use as little products as I can. Currently I am using something you mentioned in a couple of your videos...the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer...in Walnut. I love it but it does make me look greasy...i have to blot A LOT!!! I do like it because it is light on the skin. I found that at the moment Walnut is closest to my skin tone (I've been "roasting" in the sun since I've been in the Middle East...I tend to tan at a faster rate than any normal human being should).
hi maria,
ReplyDeletethank you so much for your sweet comments! first off, with your nars foundation, you can always mix in white foundation (available at mac) to make your foundation lighter, or mix in some of your moisturizer and start using the foundation as a tinted moisturizer.
for the mac studio fix powder, you should try using a liquid foundation under it so that it stops looking gray- its looking gray because it has titanium dioxide, which will cause the foundation to oxidize and look darker- aka gray.
Hi Megha,
ReplyDeleteIt is great to find someone with beautiful skin colour ( close to mine :).
I like your reviews so much.
I am new to makeup!!
My question is about Lancome foundation Teint Miracle. I have been matched to bisque 9W, it matched to my cheeks well but gives a whitish colour on my chin and slightly on forehead ( I have pigmentation issues). Another sales person matched me to bisque 6W, I must say that it does not look as white on my chin but it is dark on my cheeks. It there a way to deal with it?
I watched your pigmentation videos but I could not find the camouflage cream in the local Sephora store.
Any solution/suggestion?
HI sana,
Deleteyou should try a pinkish lipstick or blush to substitute for the camo cream i use. it will do the trick.
Hi Megha!
ReplyDeleteI just want to THANK YOU for making your vids for us girls. I am West Indian and we are about the same complexion and you really have been such a Godsend because I have acne scared skin, and it's so difficult to find concealers, foundations, and lip stick/ lip gloss shades for our skin tones and you have been ON POINT! I purchased serveral products on your vids and I am UBER happy about them. I am really floored about the Kevyan Aucoin foundation pots! I do have to mix S11 and S13 as well, but if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't even give it a try, so THANK YOU!! Keep up the good work and I look forward to more vids! :)
Lisa Rattan

OMG SO I think your one of the most prettiest people both inside out,and i love watching your videos. I love how you give the most honest feedback on products and how you explain in great detail about products and how to use them. I've watched all your videos, and I enjoy them so much! I've learned alot from you, including the fact that makeup isnt to change the way you look, but to enhance your feautures. Thank you so much, you've helped my self-esteem alot now that I actually know how to apply makeup correctly. You're the best!!:)
ReplyDeleteHi megha, you have absolutley gorgeous hair!! I was wondering if you could find out what color hair dye you use? I have your almost same skin color and i really want to make a red tint to my black hair but im so scared that its going to look bad! Thanks!!

ReplyDeleteHey megha, what is your opinion on the best undereye cream for bad dark circles?
ReplyDeleteWhat is the best facial cleanser for someone who has normal skin with just a little whiteheads but still has still pretty good skin? Its the summer, and Ive been noticing that my skin is getting a little bit oiler too. What do you recommend?

Keep it up!!
I do have one question, do you have any recommendations for dry skin? Is there anything I can use??
Also, Is it OK to use tinted moisturizer??
thanks!!
Indira
Hey Megha! I had some questions about your lasik. I just recently got it done and I was wondering how long you waited until you started lining your water line and tight line again? Also have you used colored non-prescription contacts or do you know if you can/when you can use them?

Hi there - started watching your videos and loved your hair/hairstyles. Can you do hair videos as well - ie - how to create the waves and curls etc. ?
ReplyDeleteHi Megha,
ReplyDeleteI just love all your videos. Being an Indian I can easily relate you with my skin. Have u ever tried nars orgasm illuminator? Any reviews?
Hi Megha,
ReplyDeleteMAC vs. Graftobian foundation. I'm currently using MAC studio sculpt foundation spf 15 (NC42). I saw in your Youtube video that you highly recommend Graftobian creme foundation for the Mario D look. Which foundation shade do you recommend?
